Simplest way to achieve zoom-in and rotate effect on image hover with plain CSS.
Modern day web is full of animations. A simple animation for example, could be zooming-in images on hover event — within a specific viewport container. Viewport is not the screen, but a smaller container wrapping image.
Image overlay hover effects with CSS3 transitions are a great way to add some nice interactivity on your site. In the old days, a little pointer cursor would do the trick for indicating to the user that an image was clickable to view more information. Nowadays, we want some smooth transitions and some UI icons to prompt the user.
When the user hovers over an image, a semi-transparent black background transitions in over the image, along with a “+” icon. This will indicate to the user that they can click the image for things like more info, a larger view of the image, etc.
